Water
I used to love floating in the swimming pool; the cool temperature and weightlessness of the water, its silky fluidity, slowly washed over my skin.
Floating… Drifting away into quiet nothingness. I would gaze up into the blue sky as bright white puffy clouds passed overhead.
At the creek, I would wade through the gently rushing icy water. Smooth rocks and pebbles beneath my feet. I loved the muffled clanking sound they made as I stepped on them.
Evenings spent gazing into glassy ponds reflecting flaming sunsets or soft clouds tinted with rose, peach, and lavender.
At the beach, I would lie on the cool sand. I would dig my fingers and toes into its rough wet texture. The waves washed over my body like a thousand gentle fingers. Swoosh… Swish… Leaving traces of seafoam on my skin…
